The Feynman Technique is a mental model aimed at creating a deep understanding of any topic. It was named after the physicist Richard Feynman.
Step 1: Choose a Concept
Write the name of the concept at the top of a blank sheet of paper.
Step 2: Teach it to a Child
Write an explanation of the concept on the page. Use plain English. Pretend you are teaching it to a sixth-grader.
Step 3: Identify Gaps
Review your explanation. Identify areas where you didn't know the answer or where your explanation wasn't clear.
Step 4: Review and Simplify
Go back to the source material and re-learn the weak parts. Then, simplify your explanation further.
